A Very Thankful Thanksgiving

Things We're Thankful for This Thanksgiving:

1. We're thankful that after puking all over Grandma Morrill's kitchen floor on Thanksgiving morning, Robbie miraculously recovered in time for us to still enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. (We're also secretly sort of thankful that he got sick so we had to miss our Utah Human Race 5k which neither of us were quite ready for and would have made us pretty sore and miserable the rest of the weekend.)

2. We're so thankful that we got to meet my brother Dustin's new wife, Ashley. They flew in from Georgia where Dustin serves in the Coastgaurd. This is Ashley and Dustin with us at Temple Square (notice how Robbie didn't want to pose for the picture and is crawling under Nate's legs).
3. We're thankful that we survived the sardine-like Trax ride and made it to Temple Square on Friday night to see the Christmas lights. It was beautiful and we had a great time!
4. In all seriousness, we're so grateful for our family; a little boy who keeps us hopping, makes us laugh, and teaches us patience and a baby girl who is just a sweetheart. We're thankful for our wonderful loving, supportive, fun extended families. We're grateful for the peace and prosperity we live in in this country. We're especially thankful for the gospel, the temple, and most of all our Savior Jesus Christ. We look forward to celebrating his birth and life this coming month!

Today we went to my cousin's mission farewell at the SLCC institute building where Robbie learned to play pool after the meeting.

Why Buy Toys?

Sometimes I wonder why we even bother. You're looking at Robbies most recent favorite "toys". They are little plastic hangers that were attached to fleece hats we got at Old Navy. Robbie calls them his "Buzzes" because somehow he thinks they are little Buzz Lightyears. Go figure! He likes to sleep with them on his bedpost and fly them around during the day.

Finally Friends

Well, Robbie has finally started acknowledging Ari's existence and has even discovered that she's a pretty fun friend. He loves to play with her now. He especially enjoys "riding bikes" with her--well, he rides one bike while I push Ari around on the other. I have to say that Ari is going to grow up to be one tough cookie because when Robbie plays with her he plays ROUGH. She doesn't seem to mind, though, she seems to think the world revolves around her big brother!

Our little Aurelia is sure growing up fast! Today she rolled over for the second time (front to back).

Robbie the Boy

A conversation with Robbie yesterday.

Daddy: What's your full name? Are you Robert Morrill?
Robbie: No!
Daddy: Are you Robbie Morrill?
Robbie: No! [getting very upset] I'm Robbie the Boy!

Robbie Invents the Game of "Holding-Pants"

Mommy: Let's play a game, Robbie. What game do you want to play?

Robbie: Let's play holding pants! (while running around holding his shorts up)

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was jam-paked with fun this year with the ward trunk-or-treat, two family parties, a neighborhood party, and Robbie's first "real" trick-or-treating. Ari was a cute little black cat for her first Halloween.

Robbie really wanted to be a dog or an airplane man [pilot], but finally decided to be a race car driver, which was great since we had already inherited that costume from some cousins. He had so much fun trick-or-treating and didn't even miss all the chocolate mommy and daddy stole from his stash.

As always, Nathan dressed as "death" again this year. He loves to wear this costume when he answers the door for trick-or-treaters. Every year at least a few kids (and some parents too) get pretty startled. Here's a photo of "death" and his little black cat.

Another fun Halloween tradition is the annual pumpkin carving party hosted by Grandma and Grandpa Morrill. Here are all the kids (Robbie is hiding somewhere in the crowd) and pumpkins this year!
